Refund Policy

The SDFFA policy on subscription refunds recognises that the fixed and many of the larger variable costs associated with any particular year have been committed before the start of the season. Subscription rates reflect the periodic disruption to fishing caused by military activity and recreational use of the river. The Management Committee have discretion in all circumstances concerning subscription refunds and will be steered by the following guidelines:

  • Subscription refunds for Serving personnel who are subject to short-notice operational deployments or postings will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Management Committee.
  • Any individual member who for health or other reasons is unable to take up a rod having paid the subscription will not be entitled to a refund. The Management Committee will endeavour to re-sell that rod, for all or part of the remaining season, in order to reimburse the member. 
  • If for military operational reasons the river cannot be accessed for any period, no refund will be made.
  • If a season is disrupted or cannot go ahead because of imposed restrictions on movement (infectious notifiable diseases for example), the Management Committee will use their discretion to reimburse all or part of subscriptions paid provided this would not jeopardise the future viability of the Association.
  • Subscriptions cannot be carried forward from one season to the next.
